Checkout Automation
A good number of Retail shops in the Middle East are equipped with Zebra Barcode label printers and PSC range of Barcode scanners to automate their checkouts. The shift from manual punching to scanning not only improves efficiency but also gives satisfaction to its customers.

Goods Receipt
This is a very significant application that helps the retailer to verify the goods that they have ordered from suppliers at the time of receiving in their store. It also helps them to avoid manual data entry from supplier's invoices as the data captured by the PDTs are transferred to the ERP in the back end.

Goods Transfers
When goods are transferred from one location to the other, warehouse to shop or shop to warehouse or shop to shop, the transactions are generally entered into the ERP by the data entry operator. This data entry can be eliminated by using the PDTs by scanning the transferred items and transferring the data to the PC.

Shelf Price Audit
It is important to ensure that the prices on the products displayed are correct while making price changes in the back office ERP during promotions and sale. The retailers are equipped with PDTs with software that helps them to verify the prices on the product/shelf.

Physical stock count
Physical stock is liquid cash for a retailer. Hence it is important for the retailer to ensure that the stock is maintained properly and it is tracked. Technowave delivers a wide range of applications for Physical stock count in retail depending on the nature of retailer. Technowave also helps the retailer to integrate the captured data by the PDT to any back office application.

Shelf Labeling and Discount Sales
Technowave delivers innovative applications like labeling the products/shelves ON THE SPOT. This is achieved with a combination of PDTs and Portable printers. When there is a discount or sale announced, it is difficult to change the prices on the product/shelves if labels are to be generated from the back office. This can be done on the spot – with 3 simple steps – pick up/select the product, scan it and enter new price. The Portable printer prints the price label/shelf tag with the new price.

Mobile Point of Sale
This is the latest method of attending loyalty customers in a retail shop. PDTs are used for Mobile Checkouts and by using the portable printers, customers are given the receipt. This is also known as Queue busting in retail.
